James like tractors so I took this photo for him. We are back at the Avoca again. I hope we get lots of snow.

New Doors

Done. Just need to paint the surround.

Routing the Rebate

Hanging the new doors was a big job, it took the whole day. Thankfully Tracy's dad helped out.

Old Doors

These are the old rotten doors that I am replacing.

Ready to Hang

The new doors are assembled and the glass is fitted. They just need a few coats of varnish and I can hang them.

Mortise and Tenon

The joints are all cut and the door is ready to assemble.

New Project

I have a new DIY project. New doors for the kitchen. This is the raw material I will be using. Western red cedar. It is nice to work with and has a strong natural resistance to decay so it is great for exterior use.

Where's James?

James is very fond of hiding in unusual places.

Paddling

James had a great time paddling until a wave caught him and he fell in. There were lots of tears and a stern look from his Mum when I got him home.

This afternoon the sun was shining so I took James out to Spencer Beach

After all the fun we went to the Brewers Arms for a beer (ginger for James).

With winter approaching the mountains have got a first dusting of snow. I took this photo from the top of the gondola.

A couple of small Hector's dolphins swam around the boat for a while.

Akaroa Harbour

We are spending the weekend in Akaroa with Richard, Sian and Jack. We are staying in a wonderful bach. This is the view from the balcony.
